    Purge Pump Primer
The purge pump primer feature enables the user to prime the carburetor with fuel, enabling easier starting. The purge pump primer is designed in a way that the operator cannot flood the machine by priming the carburetor too many times. Flooding the engine is still possible if the choke is not removed after the engine fires.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Blower For Simples Jobs Previously I owned an electric blower, another company, the blower quit. Since I have a Stihl chain saw and trimmer and am acquainted with the excellent performance of these two items, I thought I would try a gas trimmer (to get rid of the power cords). After using the blower several times to clean the deck, garage parking pad and sidewalks, I'm disappointed in the performance of this model, I should have gone to the next step up. In my experience, this model is not powerful enough. My electric one had much more force than this gas one. Otherwise, it's a good brand, easy to start and use. September 26, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Stihl BG50 I have seen many reviews saying it was hard to start. I use this commercially and it was VERY hard to start for the first 10-15 lawns. Now that I have done about 200 lawns with it it starts in 2-3 pulls with ease. Also all you have to do to get it to throttle up is to ease onto the throttle. Overall it is a great blower and it is great for what it is. September 24, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Slow to build rpm and power I'm having the same problem others report. Starts up but will not build rpm and power. Made adjustments to the carburetor as directed in owners manual and it still runs poorly. September 21, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by hard to start Hard to start but once I get it going it works great September 21, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Terrible to start Extremely difficult to start even from the store. The store said this would clear up after several uses. I should have never listened to them. I bought a weed eater at the same time and that has no issues. This was a huge disappointment and I question Stihl's quality. September 20, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Runs good once it gets going. Runs great once you get it warmed up. Sometimes it is difficult to start and once it starts you have to baby it until it gets warm. Does great for blowing off the deck and driveway. September 20, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good blower but hard to start Even after doing as the manual says to start, it still takes several pulls to start and that is when the air temp is warm. Once started it will start easily as long as it is warmed up. September 19, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by great value I bought this unit from Rocky's and love it. Starts up and, runs great. Just wish it was a little stronger. September 19, 2016
