Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight powerhouse chainsaw A few months after back surgery I was looking to replace some older saws with a newer lightweight quality tool. The Stihl 250 at 10lbs with an 18" bar was perfect and the low price was almost too good to be true. Having Stihl equipment for years and knowing of their impeccable reputation for quality I wasted now time buying one and have loved it since the first pull of the crank cord. This saw makes cutting firewood fun again! I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good work saw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Saw for the Price I bought this saw in September when it was on sale. I have cut of about 15 face cord of hardwood (ash, hickory, beech) so far. I have used 2 gallons of gas and I am still on the original chain without even sharpening it. This saw just chews through the wood. I love this saw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great saw, excellent value, starts just fine. ..I own a small home-based property rehab business here in Central FL and I bought this saw on sale during the first of Oct. 2016...just in time for Hurricane Matthew, but didn't need it.I have used this saw several times already on brush, small trees, and some oak firewood and all I can say is that it has PLENTY of power for what I need to do.Saw starts every time if you follow a simple procedure: 1) put chain brake on 2) set to full choke 3) Pull until you hear engine pop ( no more than 3-4 pulls ) 4) move choke to middle position. 5) Pull cord and saw fires right up. 6) Pull throttle trigger and choke moves automatically to normal position. 7) Turn chain brake off. 8) You are off and cutting logs. Its that easy people. This saw starts just fine.Great value for the price point. I almost bought a Farm Boss but this saw will suit my needs just fine.Carl H.EP Ridge ServicesHaines City, FL

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great saw! I love this saw! After not using a chainsaw in over 30yrs, it was like being with an old friend again. I was going to get one of the smaller saws but the 250 was on sale, and the salesman pointed out that the 250 is one of his best sellers and is a real workhorse. It has plenty of power, and light enough for this 65 yo guy to handle. Buy this saw, you will be happy! One thing about starting, when its cold and starting for the first time, put it at full choke and pull ONLY ONE TIME, then half choke and pull 2-3 times and she'll start right up!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from VERY HARD TO START I got this in Oct 2016 because it was on sale and all the good reviews it has. I have been having a very hard time starting this thing. Check you tube to see what I was doing wrong, which was nothing. I was doing everything by the book. Took it back to the store, and they told me that I had bad gas in it. I said, wait a minute. I'm using Stihl MotoMix. He said he changed the plug, cleaned out the lines, should be good to go. Took it home, it started right up. The next day, back to the same problem.
