Rated 5 out of 5 by Essential Head & Face Protection This helmet system has worked as advertised for me... it's comfortable to wear, easy to use, and most importantly, it offers complete head and face protection (when worn with safety glasses). I can't imagine anyone operating a chainsaw (or brush cutter) and not wearing a full protective helmet system... it's just inexpensive insurance against head and face injuries. September 24, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent fit, outstanding protection, good value I use this helmet with several Stihl tools (blower, pole saw, several chainsaws, weed eaters and when I'm using my chippers or log splitters). This helmet stays with you; look up, down or sideways and it doesn't fall over your nose. The screen works fabulously well and deflects wood chips, rocks and other debris with great success. While walking under huge Douglas fir trees I had a "widow maker" come down and hit me squarely on the helmet. The helmet deflected a heavy dead branch (about 4" diameter and maybe 18-20' long). Although the ear muff broke off, the helmet was fabulous; the branch was deflected to the side, I was completely uninjured, and if I can get a new muff, this is still a perfectly serviceable product. Yep, I keep these helmets available for people that work with me and they are required to wear them. May 6, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Protection Works well and easy to adjust. Nice to be able to pop off the hearing protection during low noise. Visor keeps majority of debris from getting in your eyes. April 21, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product This helmet saved my boyfriends life in a logging accident . without this helmet he wouldnt be here today . so thankful it did its job April 3, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by do not buy this model, buy the next more expensive one Lasted 1 hour, had ear muffs in stowed position, upon rotation into use mode 1 popped out of its socket, after spending a few minutes re seating, it lasted 5 minutes before the same thing happened, only the plastic base to the spring broke in 3 pieces. 60 degree day, can't imagine it lasting 1 minute in cold weather.Don't buy, if you already have, when the ear muff breaks off, don't bother searching for.a replacement part, stihl has nothing available. A word to those who already bough a pair. If you feel the need to rotate into stowed position, take some time to push down tab and slide each muffs out of mount, then lightly sand down until they rotate smoothly. This might buy you some more time. Ps I stow them when walking in tight brush.I repaired mine using the better stihl muffs. However screen won't incorporate with them. March 23, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fit great right out of the box. Muffs are super quiet. Just purchased. Helmet fit and adjustment was perfect, screen covered my entire face, ear muffs greatly reduced motor noise. These muffs fit around my glasses better than any other muffs I've used. Can't comment on the durability, but they were a pleasure to wear through three tanks of gas in my '362. November 28, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Quality Head Gear I do professional yards maintenance and I've been using weed wackers for years, I always wear a pair of safety glasses, I can't tell you how many times rocks hit them. However, they do not protect your face and many times rocks have hit my face, and it hurts let me tell you. One time I came back inside after I was done and noticed a blood trail down my face from a rock that had hit. I decided enough is enough.I headed down to my local Stihl dealer here in good oh Washington State and picked up the Pro Mark Forestry Helmet. I elected to go with the more expensive model because I wanted piece of mind and I also liked that ratcheting tightener mechanism. I have used this several times now to form an opinion. So far, the metal mesh screen shield is keeping rocks and other debris from hitting my face, however, dust still gets through the mesh so continue wearing your safety glasses with this. I was able to easily match my head size with the ratcheting mechanism. Sometimes I will hit my head against a low hanging tree branch, the hard hat has already proved its weight and protected my head. The hearing protection I also love. They are quality NRR 25 rating, perfect for reducing engine noise, they can be folded up for removal, and folded back down to your ears for use. They seem to fit and seal around my ears well, as I haven't had any problems with them. This is quality all around, highly recommended for pro's or estate owners. April 17, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Poorly designed muff clips One of the attachment ear muff clips on my lightly used NRR25 broke after the third use. It was always carefully stored and used. I took it back to my dealer hoping to order a replacement part but they apparently are not readily available.Fortunate, my dealer is excellent and swapped my NRR25 for the next helmet up. In fact, my dealer refuses to stock the NRR25 any longer. Other than the muff attachment, the rest of the unit is fine. September 8, 2014
